Why accommodation evidence matters
The European Commission's Schengen checklist asks for "evidence of financial means and accommodation during your stay", and IRCC lists "proof of accommodation" as an example for Canada visitor visas. A hotel reservation is one common way to show where you'll stay.
If you're staying with friends or family, an invitation letter from your host may be what's expected instead — check the official checklist for your application. In that case you may only need a flight reservation.
What's included
- Hotel name, address and city
- Guest names as on your passports
- Check-in and check-out dates covering each night between your flights
- Up to three cities or hotels on one order
Hotel reservations are sold together with a flight reservation in the Flight + Hotel plan, so both documents are prepared against the same dates.
Worked example: a two-city trip
Flying into Rome on 10 May and out of Paris on 20 May? Your hotel nights should run Rome 10–15 May and Paris 15–20 May, with no gap or overlap. Enter both cities in the form (the second in the notes), and we'll prepare matching reservations.
Keep it consistent
Gaps between hotel stays and flight dates can raise questions. Before you submit, check every night is covered — our free itinerary date checker does it in seconds — and that the city names match your itinerary. Want a day-by-day plan as well? See the Visa Pack.
